Parmeswaran Krishna Iyer

Founder, Parameswaran K Iyer, was forced to take up a job at a very early age discontinuing school. In his own words - "My first job was upkeep of a small Apartment complex in Tiruvanathapuram, Kerala, and then I moved on to try my hand at odd businesses and trade partnerships before ending up with a well paying job at a stock market firm in Bangalore. While in Bangalore I had the privilege to learn from Susanth CS (Head of Bamboo Initiative at NID) and MP Ranjan ( Bamboo Man and NID Professor) about bamboo and its positive impact to Mother Earth. Inspired with their design work and efforts to uplift the rural economy through bamboo, I started Bamboopecker on the roof top of my friend's house under the guidance of our mentor Susanth CS.

I increasingly grew passionate about introducing Bamboo as an alternative to wood, plastic and metal to the world. Bamboo has the potential to reverse the cycle of damage most industrial era man-made materials have caused to the planet Earth. Rural India right now is a consumer of man-made material and products of it, but products made of bamboo and other natural material will make the rural India richer by making the urban populace the consumer of its goods."

Parameswaran Krishna Iyer, Director Bamboopecker Lifestyle Crafts Pvt Ltd, Bangalore. His venture Bamboopecker® is a well-known brand in the furniture segment. Also, Bamboopecker® is doing Bamboo based construction projects at the Pan India level.
