College of Forestry Ponnampet Kodagu(Coorg)

College of Forestry, Ponnampet located in the heart of Western Ghats and involved in training manpower, conducting research and out reach activities in bamboo. The college has bamboo resource center comprising nursery, bamboo preservation and treatment facilities, and  bamboo value addition and processing facilities established through the support of National Bamboo Mission through Karnataka Forest Department.

College is actively conducting research in the field of bamboo nursery and quality planting material production, bamboo plantation establishment, bamboo based agroforestry, restoration of abandoned rice field through bamboo cultivation etc.  The college has conducted several on campus and off campus training programmes to the farmers, students and other enthusiastic youths in the field of bamboo nursery, bamboo cultivation, bamboo processing and value addition and so on.
