Composites Technology Park | Bamboo Composites Verified listing

Society for Development of Composites (SDC), the Host Institution was promoted by RV-TIFAC CDC and Karnataka Housing Board, supported by NSTEDB, DST and BMTPC, Govt. of India and Govt. of Karnataka. SDC has successfully set up a Technology Business Incubation (TBI) on a 6.5 acre campus of the Composites Technology Park on the outskirts of Bangalore. The TBI is well-equipped with infrastructure facilities, in terms of Computer-Aided-Design, fabrication, testing, office space, plant and machinery for training and demonstration etc., and can accommodate up to 8 incubatees at a time.

The TBI is managed by the Governing Body of the Society for Development of Composites and the Member-Secretary of the Governing Body who is also the Executive Director of the Society is responsible for day-to-day operations of the TBI.

The Executive Director is assisted by a team of engineers to provide training and demonstration services for incubatees / entrepreneurs. The expenses in maintaining and operating the TBI are also borne by the Society.

In order to carry on with its activities, the TBI has set up a wide range of facilities, in the core areas of Glass Fiber, Bamboo, Coir, Jute and other natural fibers, Computer-AidedDesign and Analysis & Testing, Prototype development and fabrication facilities for the benefit of entrepreneurs and incubatees.

Bamboo Products:

We manufacture engineered bamboo composite laminates/boards/sheets using aerospace Composite technology:

1). Natural Bamboo Mat flexible boards/laminates (thickness 1.25 mm)

2). Natural bamboo mat boards/ laminate (thickness 2.5 mm to 4.0mm)
Available grades:

• Sooth surface natural colour, Graphene PU Polish/paint.
• Decorative lamination of printed glass/polyester surface veil.

3). Natural Bamboo laminated plywood (9 mm to 25 mm)

4). Bamboo composite roofing sheet. Top surface with waterproof glass fibre lamination and bottom natural bamboo with PU coating/ decorative lamination

5).Flatton bamboo boards (Thickness:8-12 )

5). Bamboo - carbon fibre hybrid composite sheet ( 4 mm to 6.0 mm)

6). Bamboo - GI hybrid composite sheets ( 2.5 mm to 6.0 mm)

7). Bamboo - Honeycomb - Bamboo sandwich panels ( 10 mm to 50 mm) : Phenol coated high density (100 kg/cum) craft paper honeycomb , high performance bonding adhesive and hot pressed.

8). Natural Bamboo Acoustic panels ( thickness : 12 mm to 50mm).

9). Multi utility bamboo composite pallets:
a).Euro standard Pallets with quick fix and removable legs ( 1 mnt to fix or remove nine legs)
b).Pallets fixed with four wheels to use as trolly.
c).Light weight (just weighs 7 kg)

10) Natural Bamboo Decorative laminates: are manufactured using high quality bamboo combined with hot cured polymer and hot compression molded using aerospace spinoff technology. The product is Eco-Friendly and Sustainable.

Properties: High strength, Light weight, unbreakable, fire retardant, boil water/moisture resistant, non corrosive, termite proof, thermal/electrical insulation, impact resistant. Suitable for exterior application. Does not require polish or paint.

Application: Swimming pool, resorts/cottages, beaches, exterior wall, roof ,interior decoration, furniture, automobile floor, roof etc. Can be cut by conventional wood working.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

• Awarded a Gold Medal by Lockheed Martin Inc. USA under its India Innovation Growth Program for the year 2007 for development of the novel technology of "Glass Fiber -Natural Fiber Hybrid Bio-Composites Materials and Products"
• Awarded a Patent (No. 199067) by the Govt. of India Patent Office, Chennai for development of "Process for Hybridization Techniques of sandwich Composites using Natural Fibers with Glass Fibers"
• Composite products developed by TBI have been approved by State and Central PWDs, Housing Boards, MES etc.
• Eco-friendly composite honeycomb products developed and commercialized and has received JEC Award for 2011
• Successfully developed Innovative Fast Track Building Construction by Light Gauge Steel - Foam Concrete Technology and demonstrated by constructinga ground plus one building for Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation Ltd. at Bangalore
